Tuesday night roundup

- Someone over at the Western Standard blog has suggested that Harper has received death threats from a same-sex marriage advocate. The nature of the threat is that if Harper reopens the debate, he's could be risking his life. (See here.)

Two comments: one, politicians receive death threats all the time, so this is not a big deal; and more importantly, two, although I am uneasy with the concept of same-sex marriage, for someone to suggest that this threat is representative of the entire pro- same-sex community - which that blogger does by saying in stark terms that "SSM advocates want to assassinate Stephen Harper" - demonstrates irresponsibility, ignorance, and above all else, lazy thinking. Shame.

- Joan Tintor takes the piss out of Warren Kinsella. Look for my comment on her blog.

- US pundits are slowly starting to pay attention to what's going on north of the border. See here for an example from the Windy City.

- Finally, in a decisive expression of the democratic will of the Road Hammer readership, the NDP shall now be known from this day forward as "The Original Party of F", which refers to freaks, felons, freedloaders, and fringe. Thanks to all two of you who voted.
