Don't let your mouth write a cheque your MP pension plan can't cash

Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan has filed a lawsuit against Quebec Liberal MP Denis Coderre, who is danger of joining the unemployment line in six days.

The incident stems from a 'Yotes/Habs game in December when Doan supposedly made anti-French remarks to the referee and linesman, both francophones. The league investigated, decided that there was nothing to the allegation, and closed the issue. Coderre pushed on, however, saying that because he allegedly said what he did, Doan should be kicked off the Canadian Olympic men's hockey team. Doan has denied ever saying or doing anything anti-French and is asking for $250,000 in damages which he will donate to charity if he wins the case.

See here for more details.

I say good on Doaner for not letting Coderre, known for his bullying tactics, off the hook.
