Team Canada picks
The local all-sports radio station is asking listeners to predict the 23-man roster for Canada's Olympic team in Turin.
Here's who I think the Team Canada brass will go with:
In nets: Brodeur, Luongo, Joseph
On the blueline: Blake, Regehr, Neidermayer, Jovanovski, McCabe, Redden, Pronger
Up front: Iginla, Staal, Sakic, Kariya, Shanahan, Spezza, Heatley, Gagne, Crosby, Thornton, Marleau, Richards, Lecavalier

Either Turco or Belfour.
Agreed Bob, don't think Spezza is ready either. He scares the hell out of me everytime he swoops into the middle of the ice and makes one of those damn bhttp://bbq-grills-smokers.com/bbq/charcoal-barbecue-grill/cue-grill/
No Smyth or Doan? No one like Draper or Hannon who will put their face in front of a shot if needs be?
There needs to be a definitive checking line like the Doan, Draper, Thornton line at the World Cup. Thornton is going to be called on to score and I would have Nash on my team. The Thornton, Gagne, Nash line was unbelievable at the World Championships and Nash will get his ass ready in time.
I'd take Hannon before McCabe.
With Bryan Murray as Spezza's head coach, he's ready.
Here's mine:
Lecavalier Sakic "C" Iginla "A"
Nash Thornton Gagne
Richards Spezza Heatley
Marleau Draper Doan
Smyth
Pronger "A" Blake "A"
Regehr Jovo
Redden Niedermeyer
Hannon
Brodeur, Joseph, Luongo
Smyth and Doaner are having sub-par seasons.
Draper and Hannan have about 4 points each.
I'm assuming Nash's ankle will still be screwed.
I read that Nash will be playing before Christmas but I haven't heard anything lately. I'm not worried about Doan and Smyth scoring or Hannon chipping in for that matter. I think these are the guys who are going to be key to keeping the puck out.
