A few examples of CTV letting the Libs off easy ...
... here and here. (Thanks to Lee and proudtobecanadian.ca).
(Any connection to the fact that the Libs Ontario campaign chair is a Bell Globemedia excecutive, which just happens to be the company which owns CTV? Nah, couldn't be.)
I also noticed that the election campaign didn't warrant a mention on CBC's The National last night until 15 minutes into the broadcast. Even at that, no mention of beer and popcorn. We all know that if Harper screwed up, it would be at or near the top of the program.
And staying with the CBC, this morning reporter Carolyn Dunn put down her cigarette long enough to tell us about the Washington Times "editorial" which endorsed Harper. In fact, it was an op-ed by Patrick Basham of the CATO Institute. Hardly an "endorsement". (That's like suggesting if Maude Barlow writes a piece for the National Post where she states her support for the NDP, the Post has "endorsed" them. Not quite.)
Is it too much to expect reporters to do their research and cover things fairly?

I don't think that would go over too well. Policies based on anger never do ... just ask the left.
Popping off and pointing out lunacy are very different things. If you want to see popping off, I refer you to Howard Dean's "YEARGH!!!" speech from the 04 primaries.
Do you honestly think the CBC would be as happy with a Harper win as a Martin win?
Even if the Cons do finish second, it's hardly a loss. What I call losing is finishing last over and over and over and over and over and ... I'll stop there.
Free market ideas always end up winning in the long run anyways.
Bit of a reach there, my friend.
You know it hasn't been a three team league since 88 and you also know that we don't have yearly elections so your metaphor is (sound the buzzer) no good.
Besides, it's not like finishing second in a minority situation is like finishing dead last. Far from it.
Would I be correct in thinking that your grumpy and surly demeanour may have something to with more than a little bit of nagging doubt in your leftist convictions???
