Now that's what I like to see, baby

Tonight three young lads who were about 12 years old came to the door to serenade the bride and I with a medley of Christmas carols. They were collecting change because they didn't have enough money to buy Christmas presents this year.

That is great stuff. You don't sit around and complain that you have no money. You think of a way to get out there and earn a buck or two for yourself.

Obviously these kids' parents taught them well.

They even ended it off with a "God bless you and your family". It doesn't get any better than that. Even if you're not a religious person, you have to appreciate pre-teens not being shy concerning what Christmas is really all about.

I proudly gave them tomorrow's coffee money and I told them that I look forward to seeing them next year.

It made my evening.

Merry Christmas to you, good man...funny, I just happened on another blog where the guy just ranted about "these intolerant evil Christians", good to see both sides.

Blessings!

Hammer,

On the subject of heartwarming things, I just caught Brad Paisley's latest video - When I Get Where I'm Going. It's a song that puts life in perspective and fills you with optimism.

Nice tributes to Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, June Carter, and Dale Earnhardt.
