Overall, I think most people have been underwhelmed with Prime Minister Harper's first month in office, but this is great stuff.

Money quote: "The truth is: Canada is not an island. We live in a dangerous world and we have to show leadership in that world and that's what we're doing."

I am proud to live in a country which is led by someone who doesn't shy away from what's right. Canada is a G8 country and a member of NATO. With that comes certain obligations and first and foremost is defending liberal capitalist democracy, just like we did in both World Wars.

I for one am unequivocally supportive of our troops and those of all our allies who are fighting the Taliban.
