McKenna not running
CTV Newsnet is saying that Frank McKenna has taken himself out of the race for the Liberal leadership.
Apparently Tobin was supporting Stronach until now. I wonder if that will change?
A thoughtful yet light-hearted look at politics, society and pop culture from a white-collar, Canadian redneck who would much rather be spinning tunes between plays at sporting events.

As a Conservative, I am elated. McKenna was a real threat.
If I were Tobin, I'd jump in immediately. If Tobin doesn't, Rock should.
sure hope Belinda isn't running, cuz she'll get all the feminazi votes
What's wrong with the Liberal brand if two heavyweights have withdrawn their candidacy? It can't be that bad...
Why would you fear McKenna? Where was he going to pick up votes?
McKenna concerned me because he is a good politician with keen instincts. I think that this is a difference maker. Chretien and Mulroney had excellent political sense; Martin and Campbell were clueless. There are always exceptions to the rule, e.g., John Turner.
Of those left in the field, I only see Bevilacqua and Cauchon as having the necessary skills. Dryden, Stronach, and Ignatieff are neophytes who will be prone to arrogance and gaffes. If I were a Liberal, Ignatieff would make me the most nervous - he sounds like Thurston Howell and he can barely find his way to Etobicoke from his condo in the Annex.
Don't forget Rock.
You think Rock's an amateur? Maybe. He's definitely too dramatic - always doing a JFK impression.
No, he's not an amateur at all, but don't count him out of the race.
You mentioned Rock. Missed that one.
I completely agree. This thing is ripe for the taking and the Chretien people would line up behind Rock.
Imagine what a Rock led Party would be like?
