Stevie Y - a class act through and through

The face of the Detroit Red Wings, captain Steve Yzerman, has passed the torch.

Yzerman, with his best days behind him at 40 but with a lot of intangibles still to offer, has removed himself from Team Canada's Olympic hockey team.

This is a totally unselfish move from one hell of a guy.

Thumbs up to Stevie Y for putting the team ahead of his own ego.

This wasn't a surprise. What about Mario? He has to be there. Let's remember what he brought to the table during the World Cup. The younger players, especially the French Canadians were in awe and definately elevated their game from his presence and leadership. The guy can still compete. He's got the "C" locked up in my book.
