Disappointing II

Yesterday, I posted about my disappointment regarding Paul Martin's alliance with CAW boss Buzz Hargrove.

I really thought that Paul Martin "got it" when it came to the challenges that Canadian industry faces in the global economy. However, now that he has cast his lot in with the stone-age socialist dinosaur Hargrove, I'm not too sure.

Here's a piece which describes how the adversarial and short-term labour relations thinking of Hargrove and his ilk have helped put GM behind Toyota in the automotive marketplace.

I don't think that Hargrove really cares about innovation and efficiency, and it's troubling that a former Finance Minister, multi-billion-dollar business person and leader of one of Canada's two mainstream parties would openly welcome a person who is so out of touch with the modern economy such as Hargrove into his fold.

Hey Paul ... the 1970s called. They want their union leader back.
