Paul Martin has promised to do away with the $975 landing fee for new immigrants that he imposed as Finance Minister back in 1995.

I find it troubling that the biggest Liberal tax cut of all is going to go not to Canadian taxpayers but to individuals who will decide to move here at some point in the future.

Still waiting for word from Martin's comms director Scott Reid on why Canadians can't be trusted to properly spend $1200 per year on their kids but unidentified future residents of Canada can be trusted to spend $975 on, well, whatever.
