Saturday digest

- It seems that some partisans of Canada's Liberal party are finding little humour in their current predicament. I sent this harmless piece of satire (scroll down to page 4) to someone who works for a member of the Official Opposition and he responded with accusations of racism.

I guess it's tough to be a true believer sometimes.

- Forgive the Coulter quote at the beginning (she's a disgrace more now than ever), but here's a piece which explains why there is so much antipathy towards people of faith emanating from the Left.

- The best way to insulate the economy from market shocks like the one we saw this week is to promote a culture of entrepeneurship.

- So a handful of jerks pushing the ladies around means that no white guys will be hired for the next five years by the Richmond, British Columbia fire department? Come on.

- Earlier this week, I posted a lengthy retort to the latest Canadian study which insinuates that every time a six-figure earner gets a raise, a bank somewhere is foreclosing on a helpless family's mortgage. Andrew Coyne makes a number of important points in this article which demonstrates that a little critical thinking is in order whenever you're encouraged to hate the rich by the mainstream media.

- Seems like if the House of Representatives has its way, tribal council on Survivor is going to be a better demonstration of democracy than will elections down at the union hall.

Re Richmond Fire Department - this makes so much sense because we all know that caucasian males are the most misogynist of all...
