Sunday digest
- If Saddam actually hangs, I predict that the shit show that will follow in Iraq is going to make the so-called chaos we're seeing now look like the good old days, while John Podhoretz takes a sensible look at the mea culpas in the neo-con camp, even though according to Richard Perle, at least, Vanity Fair screwed him. He should have known better for dealing with such a frivolous publication, but at least he can take heart in the now inarguable fact that the Butcher of Baghdad was prevented from obtaining nukes due to actions taken by the coalition of the willing, which was the number one goal of the invasion in the first place.
- The US economy: truly one of mankind's greatest inventions, even though the New York Times is already laying the groundwork for the necessary explanation just in case the Bush tax cuts get cancelled by a Democratic House and a recession follows. More here.
- Could it be said that despite their best intentions, liberal Democrats support the troops the way OJ searches for the real killers? Steyn comments on Kerry. (H/T to The People's Cube.)
- Keep an eye on Venezuela and an ear on the deafening silence that comes from the Left regarding Hugo's abuse of democracy.
- Finally, the Ottawa Senators were up 2-0 at home last night against the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricans on national TV, and blew it, losing 3-2. Inexcusable. Meanwhile, I'm sure that they're already planning the June parade in Toronto as the visiting Leafs handed the almighty Buffalo Sabres their first loss of the season.
It must suck to be a Sens fan.
