Friday miscellany
- Is there anything worse than the guilt trip known as pulpit socialism?
- Jonah Goldberg has penned an interesting article discussing the traditional black/white divide in the United States in light of the emergence of American Muslims as a crucial political minority. that got me thinking about the French/English divide here in Canada, especially considering that many Muslims emigrating to Canada settle in Montreal. Here's an interesting post from an Arabic Quebecer who looks at the state of politics in Quebec these days.
- The New York Post's Ralph Peters is on the ground in Baghdad this week. See here, here and here for his take on what's going on on the ground. Also on Iraq, this month's Atlantic has an interesting prescription from Clinton-era staffer and pro-invasion policy wonk Kenneth Pollack while VDH weighs in here on Iraq and here on Hamas' hypocrisy. Finally, the Wall St. Journal has given credence to claims here and here that it may be a little premature to conclude that there were no WMD after all. Perhaps "Bush Lied! People Died!" isn't quite as accurate as the Angry Left wishes it were.
- On a personal note, I'm looking forward to renting a stack of DVDs this weekend and just chilling. I'll have some reviews up probably Sunday of some of the latest flicks to hit the video store.
