Tookie Williams IV
The Tookie Williams case is starting to attract international attention.
Now, his attorney is appealing to the California Supreme Court for a stay of his execution, which is scheduled for Tuesday. Among the reasons being given in support for commuting his sentence for the killing of four people in 1979 is that it may cause rioting on the streets of LA.
I say "so what"? It's time we start treating criminals as lawbreakers, not just members of a certain race.
And if Arnold does go through with the sentence, I hope that the LAPD rounds up every single thug, ne'er do well and miscreant who breaks so much as a store window and throws the book at them.
Although I'm foursquare against capital punishment, I'm even more opposed to letting people down easy when they break the law, especially convicted murderers like Tookie Williams.
